    Interesting...

    I see Stripe accepts Bitcoin:
    https://stripe.com/bitcoin

Any thoughts on this. How do we use aMember with this?

Stripe says it charges 0.8% ยท $5 cap - does this mean when someone pays with bitcoin, Stripe converts this to fiat currency (current day cash) and sends us a transfer to our bank account?

Probably get a complete answer on this at Stripe.com.

I wish. No luck on Stripe.com. I have a help desk ticket submitted at Stripe.com.

That tells me maybe Stripe is not such a good option. :D

Stripe has been great for me...

    Mostly:

Taking payments outside the good ol' USA is a total scam - they charge some insanely high fee for this. But other than that, all good.

I still do not understand the Stripe/bitcoin deal. I am assuming they charge .8% of the transaction to convert bitcoin to USD on the fly. Still waiting to hear back about this.

    Good luck with it.

I would love to hear the answer.

    Luck is for the ill-prepared:>

I just got it to work - it looks and works great:

Here is how to get 'er goin':

    Enable bitcoin in Stripe here...

    Then go to aMember's Setup/Confiration --> Stripe

And check the Use Hosted Version box - which will give us the Enable Bitcoin checkbox (which we need to check) - like this:

    A few things:

    1) For some reason, this does not work for rebills. Fortunately, aMember does not display the rebill option on rebills.

    2) Bitcoin is apparently different than bitcoin (UPPER case first letter vs. lower case). Apparently, bitcoin is the brand name and Bitcoin is the method.

    Excellent.

And what happens when it's time for renewal?

Is there an alternate payment method Amember will revert to in that case?

Or is the option to use Bitcoin only available upon first payment?

I guess I was not clear in my post above when I said:

    1) For some reason, this does not work for rebills. Fortunately, aMember does not display the rebill option on rebills.

This Bitcoin payment option only works for one-time purchases.

Does anyone have any ideas for a workaround on rebills and bitcoin?

I missed it the first time.

Just getting coffee in me so I may have missed even more.

    You're funny, dude.

Now, once you have that coffee joltin' through your veins, let's brainstorm a bitcoin rebill workaround - sound good?

I wish I was a programmer (not really) so I could brainstorm a workaround.

I can hack around enough to be dangerous so my ideas may be worthless to you.

Maybe @caesar or @alexander could chime in here.

I'm friends with someone over at https://www.paybear.io
perhaps this would be a good alternative (pure crypto- no fiat conversion)
